Universities Space Research Association Forms USRA Energy to Support DOE AI and Nuclear Goals
Universities Space Research Association has established a new subsidiary named USRA Energy LLC in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, announced in a press release. The new organization is intended to advance the priorities of the U.S. Department of Energy, focusing on the application of artificial intelligence in workforce development, nuclear innovation, scientific discovery, and mission execution.
USRA Energy will integrate corporate capabilities, workforce training, national laboratory engagement, and mission delivery under a unified structure. The initiative draws on USRA’s experience in AI, quantum technologies, and space nuclear research to accelerate DOE’s energy-related objectives.
According to USRA President and CEO Dr. Elsayed Talaat, who also chairs the board of USRA Energy, the formation of this entity builds on more than four decades of the association’s work in nuclear energy research and workforce development.
