Nuclearn and GSE Solutions Bring AI Tools to Nuclear Plant Simulators

Aug 20, 2026
Nuclearn and GSE Solutions have formed a strategic collaboration to add AI tools to nuclear plant simulation and operator training systems.

Nuclearn and GSE Solutions have formed a strategic collaboration to integrate Nuclearn AI capabilities with GSE nuclear plant simulator technology, the companies announced in a press release.

GSE plans to add Nuclearn tools directly into its simulator products. The tools will let training instructors write scenarios in natural language, generate performance summaries after training sessions, create adaptive quizzes and assessments based on trainee results, and produce plant specific physics explanations during sessions.

Nuclearn will also build features in its own platform using simulator access and data. Planned capabilities include AI assisted operator decision support, scenario exploration for risk and design analysis, an engineering modification sandbox, pattern recognition tools for early signs of equipment or procedure drift, and simulator augmented AI for technical evaluation of new reactor designs, including small modular reactors.

The companies will manage the work through a joint steering committee with technical and executive leads from both organizations.
