HiddenLayer Joins DOE Prometheus AI Nuclear Energy Project
HiddenLayer has joined Prometheus, a U.S. Department of Energy initiative selected for $60 million in Phase II funding over three years, subject to appropriations, the company said in a press release.
Prometheus is led by Idaho National Laboratory and includes Oak Ridge National Laboratory, Argonne National Laboratory, Sandia National Laboratories, academic institutions, and more than 20 industry partners.
The project will apply AI to nuclear reactor design, licensing, manufacturing, construction, and operations. It will also cover nuclear fuel fabrication and nuclear legacy document management.
HiddenLayer will contribute work on securing AI systems against threats and vulnerabilities. The company said its role includes testing AI systems, identifying risks, and helping protect AI models and applications as they move from research into nuclear energy uses.
