Scale Computing Adds AMD CPU Support to SC//HyperCore Virtualization Suite
Scale Computing announced in a press release that version 9.7 of its SC//HyperCore virtualization suite now supports AMD CPU-based infrastructure, including AMD EPYC and Ryzen AI processors. The update expands deployment options for Scale Computing edge solutions and aims to simplify virtualization and AI workloads closer to where data is generated.
The collaboration strengthens the relationship between Scale Computing and Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. (AMD), which already powers the SC//Reliant edge computing platform. The new support covers environments ranging from compact edge devices to large rack systems designed for performance and efficiency in distributed operations.
The release targets industries such as retail, manufacturing, and healthcare that require platforms capable of managing both traditional virtualized applications and AI-enabled tasks. It also opens new opportunities for hardware partners and resellers to deliver AMD-powered systems built around the SC//HyperCore virtualization suite.
Scale Computing will showcase the update at AMD Advancing AI 2026, taking place July 22 to 23, where the company will present its latest developments in distributed infrastructure and AI readiness.
