SAP SE has announced the launch of the SAP Business Data Cloud, a new solution developed in collaboration with Databricks. This initiative aims to unify SAP and third-party data across organizations, providing a robust foundation for impactful decision-making and reliable AI applications.

The partnership integrates Databricks' technology for data engineering, machine learning, and AI workloads directly into the SAP Business Data Cloud. This integration allows businesses to leverage Databricks' capabilities on mission-critical data from SAP, enhancing data governance, analysis, and the development of domain-specific AI applications.

SAP Business Data Cloud also introduces the concept of a data product economy, offering fully-managed SAP data products across various business processes. These products maintain their original business context, enabling immediate access to high-quality data without the need for costly extraction processes. Additionally, the platform will feature new insight apps that utilize AI models connected to real-time data, providing advanced analytics and planning capabilities.

The collaboration further enhances SAP's generative AI copilot, Joule, which will now benefit from the enriched data environment to improve cross-functional workflows and business decision-making. SAP has also introduced a new agent builder capability, allowing customers to create and deploy custom AI agents alongside SAP's existing library of Joule agents.
