Factory Brings AI Coding Agents to Databricks Marketplace

Factory and Databricks are partnering to offer Factory's Droids software agents through Databricks Marketplace, Factory said in an announcement. Eligible customers can purchase Factory using their existing Databricks commitments and deploy it on their current infrastructure.

Droids can access proprietary and open weight models through Databricks Unity Gateway, with governance through Unity Catalog. The agents can turn product requirements into tested pull requests for Lakeflow pipelines, Spark jobs, Databricks Apps and Agent Bricks agents.

The agents can also translate legacy data warehouses and operational data stores into code for Databricks Lakehouse and Lakebase. Factory and Databricks also plan to explore connecting Droids with security findings from Databricks Lakewatch so the agents can patch affected code and prepare tested pull requests.
