Rockwell Automation Highlights AI Adoption in Cybersecurity for Manufacturing
Rockwell Automation has released findings from its 10th annual "State of Smart Manufacturing Report," indicating that 61% of cybersecurity professionals in the manufacturing sector plan to adopt AI to address increasing cyber threats. Announced in a press release, the report surveyed over 1,500 manufacturing leaders across 17 countries, highlighting cybersecurity as a top concern, second only to economic conditions.
The integration of IT and OT systems in smart manufacturing has expanded the attack surface, making cybersecurity a critical issue. The report shows that 38% of manufacturers intend to use data from current sources to enhance protection, while 48% of cybersecurity professionals emphasize securing converging architectures as crucial for future success.
The findings underscore the growing importance of AI in cybersecurity strategies, with AI and machine learning adoption in security expected to outpace general manufacturing by 12 percentage points in the next year. This shift reflects a broader trend of leveraging advanced technologies to maintain productivity and stay ahead of evolving cyber threats.
