Realloys Rebuilds U.S. Rare Earth Capability Ahead of 2027 Defense Deadline

Realloys is restoring domestic rare earth processing through its Euclid, Ohio facility and partnerships in Canada, supported by a $200 million letter of intent from the Export-Import Bank of the United States, as new defense procurement rules take effect in 2027.

Realloys is restoring U.S. rare earth processing capacity through its Euclid, Ohio facility and integrated supply chain, announced in a press release. The company aims to meet a 2027 defense procurement deadline that will restrict the use of Chinese-origin rare earth materials in qualifying weapons systems.

Realloys acquired the Euclid facility through PMT Critical Metals, inheriting over three decades of specialty metals expertise. The site is the only operational facility in North America with a proven record of producing rare earth metals and alloys for government and commercial clients. It holds contracts with the U.S. Department of Defense, Department of Energy, and NASA.

Upstream, Realloys owns the Hoidas Lake rare earth project in Saskatchewan and has feedstock agreements in Kazakhstan, Brazil, and Greenland. Midstream, it has secured an 80 percent offtake from the Saskatchewan Research Council’s Rare Earth Processing Facility, targeting commercial output between late 2026 and early 2027. The Euclid site will manage metallization, alloying, and magnet production for defense and industrial use.

By early 2027, Realloys expects to produce more than 500 tonnes of neodymium-praseodymium metal annually, along with smaller volumes of dysprosium and terbium oxides. The facility will serve as a key domestic source of heavy rare earth materials as new procurement rules take effect. The effort is supported by a $200 million letter of intent from the Export-Import Bank of the United States (EXIM) to strengthen the company’s supply chain development.
