Pronto to Deploy 100+ Autonomous Haul Trucks Globally
Pronto has announced a global agreement with Heidelberg Materials to deploy over 100 autonomous haul trucks using Pronto's Autonomous Haulage System (AHS) across multiple sites worldwide, announced in a press release. This deployment will occur over the next three years and will include both new and pre-owned rigid frame haul trucks.
The agreement follows successful pilots in North America, where Pronto's technology was tested at Heidelberg Materials' quarry in Bridgeport, Texas. The Pronto AHS, which uses advanced AI and a hardened camera system, avoids costly sensor technologies like radar and lidar, allowing for rapid deployment at a lower cost.
Heidelberg Materials has chosen Pronto as its exclusive provider of autonomous technologies in North America, highlighting the system's potential to improve production efficiency, enhance safety, and support sustainability efforts. Pronto's CEO, Anthony Levandowski, emphasized that this partnership validates the company's goals of delivering industry-leading safety, performance, and economics in the quarry market.
