Promise Acquires Curious Refuge to Boost AI Storytelling
Promise, a pioneering film and TV studio for the Generative AI era, has announced its acquisition of Curious Refuge, a leading AI film school. This acquisition aims to empower the next generation of storytellers by fostering innovation in the Generative AI space, announced in a press release.
Curious Refuge, since its inception in 2020, has been instrumental in mentoring and educating over 4,000 artists from 171 countries. It offers workshops and courses that help artists explore the creative potential of Generative AI. The acquisition will allow Promise to connect these creators with opportunities in film and TV projects, bridging the gap between emerging talent and storytelling.
George Strompolos, Co-Founder and CEO of Promise, emphasized that the collaboration with Curious Refuge will lead to a vibrant creative community, connecting artists and industry leaders inspired by Generative AI. This move is supported by investments from Peter Chernin's The North Road and Andreessen Horowitz, positioning Promise to produce a diverse slate of films and series.
