Anthropic Opens Singapore Office and Signs AI Safety Agreement
Anthropic opens its previously announced Singapore office and signs an AI cooperation memorandum with the Ministry of Digital Development and Information, the company said in an announcement. The office is Anthropic's fifth in the Asia Pacific region and has a growing local team.
The memorandum covers cooperation on AI safety, security, model evaluation, testing standards and incident response. Anthropic also plans to share research and data with the government, support AI skills programs and help small and medium businesses adopt AI.
More than 1,500 engineers and technical staff at GovTech Singapore use Claude Code for government systems. DBS uses Claude for software development and workplace tasks, while GIC is introducing it across investment and corporate services teams. Grab powers BriX, its sales assistant, with Claude; Anthropic says the assistant saves Grab's sales teams about 40,000 hours a quarter.
