Phaze raised an $8.75 million seed round led by Andreessen Horowitz to develop remote computing software for employees and AI agents.

Phaze raised an $8.75 million seed round led by Andreessen Horowitz (a16z), according to The Next Web. Indie, NextView, Makers Fund and Lerer Hippeau also participated.

The Utah based startup lets employees and AI agents access powerful remote computers. Companies can pool workstations and assign them as needed instead of providing each employee with dedicated hardware.

AI agents connect through Model Context Protocol, which Phaze labels experimental. In a demonstration, a Slack bot handled an IT support request by accessing a user's computer and asking a human for help when needed. Agents receive only the access available to the user.

Phaze was founded by executives from remote desktop company Parsec, which Unity acquired for $320 million in 2021.
