Phantom Neuro Secures $19M to Advance Neural Interface Technology
Phantom Neuro has secured $19 million in a Series A funding round led by Ottobock, as announced in a press release. This investment aims to accelerate the clinical trials and commercialization of Phantom X, a robotic control platform designed to improve the functionality of prosthetic limbs and assistive devices.
The funding round also saw participation from existing investors such as Breakout Ventures and Draper Associates, along with new investors including Actual VC and METIS Innovative. This brings Phantom Neuro's total funding to $28 million, supporting preclinical testing, regulatory submissions, and expanded research and development.
Ottobock's involvement includes joining Phantom Neuro's Board of Directors, providing expertise in global prosthetics and exoskeleton markets. The collaboration is expected to expedite the market introduction of Phantom X, which has already received Breakthrough Device Designation and TAP Designation from the FDA, validating its potential to enhance patient outcomes.
