Paid Launches Platform for AI Agent Monetization
Manny Medina, founder of the sales automation company Outreach, has launched a new startup called Paid, which aims to help AI agents get paid through a novel platform. The company has raised €10 million in pre-seed funding from investors including EQT Ventures and Sequoia, as reported by TechCrunch.
Paid offers a platform that allows AI agent companies to create flexible pricing models and manage billing, addressing the unique challenges of monetizing AI agents. Unlike traditional software, AI agents often take over entire roles, making conventional pricing models like per-user or per-seat ineffective. Instead, Paid focuses on outcome-based pricing, aligning profitability with the value delivered by the agents.
The platform is designed to assist startups in the AI agent industry, which is expected to grow significantly by 2030. Paid's solution includes margin management and tools for tracking agent performance and return on investment, enabling companies to effectively monetize their AI agents. Early adopters of the platform, such as Logic.app and VidLab7, have reported improvements in margin visibility and profitability.
