Orange Lion Sports Unveils Smartshot 2.0 for Tennis

Smartshot 2.0 combines electronic line calling, automated broadcasting, AI commentary, tournament management and an interactive ball machine.

Orange Lion Sports unveiled Smartshot 2.0 at the 2026 China International Fair for Trade in Services in Beijing, the company said in a press release. The event ran from September 9 to 13.

The system includes electronic line calling with six Hawk-Eye cameras, automated directing, AI commentary and a voice interactive ball machine. It displays instant in or out decisions on a large screen and can announce calls at an adjustable volume.

Smartshot 2.0 also includes an AI Tournament Assistant built with the Tongyi Qwen large language model from Alibaba Group, which founded Orange Lion Sports. The assistant accepts natural language instructions and reads tournament rules from PDF files to support registration and scheduling.

Orange Lion Sports says Smartshot costs one tenth as much as comparable systems and has been deployed on more than 500 courts, including installations in Europe, Australia, Hong Kong and Taiwan.
