OpenAI Weighs Funding at $1.2 Trillion Valuation Before IPO
OpenAI is considering a funding round that could value the company at $1.2 trillion before its planned initial public offering, according to the Financial Times.
The possible financing follows a secondary share sale completed in August. That transaction allowed current and former employees to sell about $7 billion in shares at an $852 billion valuation. The proposed $1.2 trillion figure is about 41 percent higher.
