Open Secure AI Alliance Joins Linux Foundation

The Linux Foundation announced that the Open Secure AI Alliance has joined the organization. The foundation will provide a neutral home for companies, researchers and governments working on AI, cybersecurity and open source technology.

The alliance, originally established by NVIDIA with other members including the Linux Foundation, aims to build an open defensive stack for AI and to strengthen collective defense by letting organizations test systems, share evidence and turn security discoveries into practical protections. It develops open tools for securing models, inference, AI agents, context, identity, policy, enforcement, containment and infrastructure. Its work also covers shared evaluation standards, incident information sharing and response exercises.

A core project is the Shared AI Findings Exchange, or SAFE. The proposed exchange would confidentially collect and analyze AI security findings, notify affected parties and turn findings into evidence based controls. The foundation requested contributions to the SAFE proposal by 21 September 2026.
