OpenAI Proposes Cybersecurity Rules for Advanced AI
OpenAI publishes a cybersecurity blueprint with proposals for governments and industry, detailed in a company post. The plan focuses on securing advanced AI, modernizing cyber defenses, and strengthening public institutions.
OpenAI proposes clearer responsibilities for protecting advanced models and agents, detecting dangerous behavior, and retaining reliable controls to stop operations. It also calls for advanced tools, training, and technical support for defenders, along with investment in essential services and the replacement of outdated systems.
The blueprint recommends stronger government evaluations, independent technical assessments, consistent incident reporting, and coordinated response and recovery procedures. OpenAI says its experience with model misalignment and security incidents informed the proposals.
