Mistral Inc. has been awarded a $20,039,666 firm fixed price contract by the U.S. Army for the procurement of THOR Group 2 uncrewed aircraft systems and associated payloads announced in a press release. The contract, issued by the Army Contracting Command at Redstone Arsenal, Alabama, is scheduled for completion by March 17, 2027.

Under the agreement, Mistral will deliver THOR systems and mission payloads to support company level small uncrewed aircraft system requirements. The project aims to provide tactical units with an organic capability for rapid deployment and autonomous flight operations.

Mistral has teamed with FUSE (THOR), the developer of the THOR family of military tactical drones. The THOR Group 2 platform is a multi rotor mini drone designed for reconnaissance, surveillance, target acquisition, communications relay, and other mission profiles. It can be carried in a backpack, assembled quickly, and configured with modular payloads for various field operations.
