Mistral AI Releases Mistral Large 4 Weights

Mistral AI released the weights for Mistral Large 4, its 1 trillion parameter multimodal model previewed earlier this month, the company announced on its website. Mistral reports scores of 19.7% on FrontierCode 2.0, 48% on the Artificial Analysis Coding Agent Index and 51% on the Artificial Analysis Cyber Index. It says the model matches the leading open-weight model on the coding index while using 47% fewer tokens per task, and that graders in Surge's blind evaluations preferred it over other open-weight models, ranking it behind only Claude Opus 5.5.

The model is available through Mistral Studio, the Mistral API, OpenRouter and endpoints hosted by NVIDIA. Developers can also download the weights from Hugging Face and deploy them with vLLM or SGLang.

Mistral Large 4 uses a modified MIT license that permits use, modification, customization and commercialization. Businesses offering the model as a service need a separate commercial license. API pricing is $0.70 per million input tokens, $0.07 per million cached input tokens and $2.10 per million output tokens.

Tensordyne Napier: What If One Rack Could Do the Work of Nine?

Tensordyne

This Tensordyne whitepaper presents Napier, an inference-focused AI processor and rack-scale system based on the company’s TDN Math logarithmic number system. It examines infrastructure requirements for large mixture-of-experts and agentic models, compares major inference architecture approaches, and details the TDN AIP processor, TDN72 pod, TDN Link fabric, and Napier Ultra configuration. The paper reports simulation-based performance, cost, and accuracy-validation results, including Tensordyne’s projected comparison of one Napier rack with a nine-rack Nvidia Rubin plus Groq deployment; the chip is reported as taped out and in fabrication.
