Mistral AI released Mistral Large 4, a multimodal model with 1 trillion parameters, according to TechCrunch. The model is currently available through a public endpoint with safety controls, and Mistral plans to publish its weights after three weeks of safety testing.

Mistral trained the model on its own computing infrastructure using 4,000 Nvidia GPUs. Benchmark results are not yet available.

The company says Mistral Large 4 is optimized for cybersecurity, finance and chip design. Mistral plans to work with selected partners and governments before releasing the weights to address potential malicious uses.
