Mistral AI and Mozilla introduced a partnership that brings Mistral models to the Firefox Smart Window beta, as the companies announced in a joint blog post. The models are powering Smart Window for users in France and North America, with the United Kingdom and Germany expected to follow later in 2026.

Smart Window is an AI browsing assistant that can summarize complex searches, retrieve information from previously viewed pages and find information across open browser tabs.

Mozilla does not save Smart Window conversations on its servers by default, while Mistral has agreed to retain no user data. Mistral is also adapting its models for regional languages, dialects and cultural context.
