Manulife Wealth & Asset Management has introduced an AI Research Assistant platform to support its public markets investment research teams, announced in a press release. The tool is designed to enhance investment analysis by synthesizing internal and external data sources into actionable insights.

The AI Research Assistant leverages artificial intelligence to analyze company financials, earnings transcripts, news stories, and internal notes, helping teams reduce time spent reviewing documents by up to 80%. According to the company, 65% of its public markets investment team members have already integrated the platform into their workflows.

Developed collaboratively by Manulife's technology, AI, and investment research teams, the platform embeds AI specialists within investment groups to ensure it aligns with existing processes. The system is intended to complement human expertise, maintaining portfolio management decisions within the investment teams.

The initiative follows Manulife Financial Corporation’s broader AI strategy, which includes tools like its proprietary ChatMFC and a generative AI roadmap focused on improving insights and personalization across its global operations.
