Inductive Bio launches Beacon-2 to predict human drug doses
Inductive Bio launched Beacon-2, a system that predicts the efficacious human dose of a small molecule from its chemical structure, the company announced in a press release. The system estimates potency and models absorption, distribution, metabolism, excretion, and toxicity before combining the results with mechanistic pharmacokinetic models.
Inductive Bio evaluated Beacon-2 using 20 drug programs and 325 public compounds from the ExpansionRx OpenADMET competition. Its ADMET models ranked first in three consecutive OpenADMET blind challenges involving more than 750 competitors, according to the company.
In a separate test, the company's Indy medicinal chemistry agent used Beacon-2 across five autonomous design cycles to optimize a disclosed SARS-CoV-2 compound. The process improved its predicted human dose by 17 fold. Beacon-2 is available to partners through the Compass platform and is running on active drug discovery programs.
