Iliad Announces $3.1 Billion Investment in AI Infrastructure Across Europe
French telecom company Iliad has announced a significant investment of 3 billion euros ($3.1 billion) to enhance AI infrastructure in Europe. The investment will be managed by its subsidiary, OpCore, which operates Iliad's 13 data centers.
OpCore plans to deploy several hundred megawatts of capacity in the short term, with a long-term goal of expanding to several gigawatts across Europe. This initiative is part of Iliad's strategy to strengthen its AI capabilities and infrastructure.
Additionally, Iliad has partnered with French AI firm Mistral AI to integrate the 'le Chat pro' AI model, which will be available to Iliad's 15.5 million subscribers in France. This move aims to enhance the AI services offered to its customer base.
The announcement comes ahead of the Artificial Intelligence Action Summit in Paris, highlighting Iliad's commitment to advancing AI technology in the region.
