Highstar Launches Battery Cell Portfolio for AI Data Centers

Highstar announced in a press release a full chain battery cell portfolio for AI data centers at the 2026 GGII Energy Storage Industry Summit. The portfolio covers three power layers: grey space UPS and high voltage direct current systems, white space battery backup units, and grid side energy storage.

For grey space systems, the company introduced an 85Ah high rate lithium iron phosphate cell for UPS and HVDC applications. It also listed 50Ah sodium ion cells designed to operate from minus 40°C to 80°C.

For white space battery backup units, Highstar offers tabless cylindrical cells in 18650 and 21700 formats, with LFP and high nickel NMC chemistries. For grid side storage, the portfolio includes 314Ah lithium ion cells and 160Ah sodium ion cells.

Highstar said the portfolio combines lithium ion and sodium ion chemistries with prismatic and cylindrical platforms. The company also participated in the launch of the 2026 Global AIDC Power Supply Industry Development Blue Book at the summit.

Tensordyne Napier: What If One Rack Could Do the Work of Nine?

Tensordyne

This Tensordyne whitepaper presents Napier, an inference-focused AI processor and rack-scale system based on the company’s TDN Math logarithmic number system. It examines infrastructure requirements for large mixture-of-experts and agentic models, compares major inference architecture approaches, and details the TDN AIP processor, TDN72 pod, TDN Link fabric, and Napier Ultra configuration. The paper reports simulation-based performance, cost, and accuracy-validation results, including Tensordyne’s projected comparison of one Napier rack with a nine-rack Nvidia Rubin plus Groq deployment; the chip is reported as taped out and in fabrication.
