GovWell Raises $25 Million Series A Led by Insight Partners
GovWell has raised 25 million dollars in Series A funding led by Insight Partners, with participation from existing investors Work-Bench and Bienville Capital, announced in a press release. The round also includes investment from GovTech industry leaders David Reeves, Andreas Huber, and Chris Bullock. This brings GovWell’s total funding to 34.5 million dollars.
The company plans to use the funding to accelerate product development, expand AI capabilities, and scale its operations across the United States. GovWell provides an AI platform designed for local governments to modernize permitting and licensing processes. Its tools include an AI powered Community Assistant for residents and an AutoCheck system that reviews permit applications for compliance within seconds.
GovWell reports serving over 130 municipalities and counties across 34 states. Most of its new customers are replacing legacy software, and the company states it has not lost a single live customer. The platform handles functions such as inspections, fee collection, and reporting through a single system.
Co-founders Troy LeCaire and Ben Cohen said the funding will enable GovWell to deliver more efficient government services. The company intends to expand its platform beyond permitting to other government functions such as public works and benefits management.
