Beyang Therapeutics Raises Nearly $30 Million for AI Drug Platform
Chengdu based Beyang Therapeutics has closed an oversubscribed Series A round raising nearly $30 million, the company said in a press release. The round was co led by Legend Capital and Shanghai Healthcare Capital, with participation from China Medical System Holdings, Fenglei Capital, Shanghai Sci-Tech Innovation Center Capital, Harbor & Canton Capital, Root Venture Partners, and YuanBio Venture Capital.
Beyang said the funding will support updates to its ExCEED platform, which combines proprietary databases, AI, and computational simulation for molecular design, druggability optimization, and biological evaluation. The company also plans to use the proceeds for clinical and preclinical work on pipeline candidates and to expand international research and business teams.
The company said its BT01001 candidate is a small molecule eye drop for retinal diseases that has completed Phase I SAD and MAD studies in healthy subjects. Beyang is preparing patient trials for the therapy.
Beyang is also advancing BT01002, a second generation Menin inhibitor for KMT2Ar or NPM1 mutated acute leukemia. The candidate is in IND enabling studies.
