Fujitsu and Sony Bank Integrate Generative AI into Core Banking Systems
Fujitsu and Sony Bank have announced the integration of generative AI into the development of Sony Bank's core banking system, according to a press release. This initiative, which began in September 2025, aims to enhance system design and accelerate development by 20%, with full implementation expected by April 2026.
The collaboration leverages Fujitsu's core banking solution and proprietary knowledge graph-enhanced RAG technology to improve AI accuracy. This marks the first phase of creating an AI-driven development ecosystem within Sony Bank's cloud-native environment. The initiative will eventually apply generative AI across all development processes, from management to maintenance, achieving advanced scalability and security through AWS integration.
Sony Bank completed a full cloud shift in May 2025, significantly enhancing the flexibility and scalability of its operations. The current project aims to build on this foundation, delivering more agile and flexible services to customers while fostering a robust development ecosystem.
