Feldspar Unveils Surface-Based Force Measurement Platform with Cambridge Design Partnership
Feldspar has introduced a patent pending prototype of its surface based force measurement platform, announced in a press release. The system captures real time ground reaction forces directly from the playing surface and is engineered with Cambridge Design Partnership.
The platform uses a triangular force plate architecture that derives horizontal force from vertical force, simplifying design and reducing cost compared with traditional force plates. It enables continuous real time data capture across entire sports environments, removing the need for repeated setup and manual operation. Data is available through a live dashboard for coaches and broadcasters.
The technology can be deployed across full athletics tracks and scaled to field and court sports, allowing up to 40 players to be tracked simultaneously. It supports a unified AI powered data platform for benchmarking, injury risk detection, and predictive performance insights.
Feldspar has opened its first external funding round to support pilot deployments and accelerate commercial rollout. The partnership with Cambridge Design Partnership focuses on preparing the system for real world deployment and manufacturing readiness.
