A new Deloitte survey shows that 86% of corporate and private equity leaders have integrated generative AI into their M&A workflows, with most planning to increase spending in 2025.

Deloitte has released findings from its 2025 GenAI in M&A Survey, revealing that 86% of corporate and private equity leaders now use generative AI in their dealmaking processes, announced in a press release. The survey gathered responses from 1,000 executives across major U.S. industries.

According to the survey, 65% of organizations adopted generative AI within the past year. About 83% have already invested $1 million or more in the technology for their M&A teams, with most planning to increase spending over the next 12 months. Nearly all respondents expect measurable returns on these investments within one to three years.

Application of generative AI is currently strongest in the early phases of the M&A cycle, with 40% using it for strategy and market assessment, and 35% applying it to target identification, screening, and due diligence. Despite rapid adoption, 67% of respondents cited data security as a leading concern, followed by data quality and availability issues.
