Dell'Oro Group Sees Data Center Capex Surpassing $3 Trillion by 2030
Dell'Oro Group has raised its earlier forecast for infrastructure spending tied to hyperscale AI growth, projecting worldwide data center capital expenditure to surpass $3 trillion by 2030, the firm said in a press release.
The research firm said high end accelerators used in AI optimized accelerated servers are expected to take the largest share of data center capex. It expects those systems to remain the main driver of spending growth through the forecast period.
Baron Fung, vice president of research at Dell'Oro Group, said the outlook has nearly doubled since the January 2026 forecast. The change reflects higher hyperscale capex guidance and increased projections for global data center power capacity.
The firm said the pace of growth will depend on investment sustainability, power availability, and supply chain conditions. It also cited expected demand for general purpose servers and growth in the cloud segment focused on AI.
