ENGIE Signs 48 MW Solar Supply Deal With QTS in Texas
ENGIE North America has signed a 48 MWac solar power purchase agreement with QTS Data Centers to supply renewable energy for data center operations in Irving, Texas, the company announced in a press release.
The QTS agreement was signed alongside a long term power purchase agreement between ENGIE and ABEI Energy. That deal secures renewable generation from ABEI Energy's Lubio Solar project in Kaufman County, Texas.
Lubio Solar is an approximately 61 MWac solar project that has not yet reached commercial operation. Once online, it is expected to generate about 150 GWh of electricity each year.
ENGIE said the transaction is ABEI Energy's first renewable energy deal with ENGIE in the United States. The companies have an existing partnership in Europe.
