Atera has released its *Leading Enterprise IT with AI* report, announced in a press release, revealing that artificial intelligence is reshaping the role of CIOs from operational oversight to strategic leadership. The survey, which included more than 1,000 CIOs and IT VPs from large U.S. enterprises, found that 63% of IT leaders say their roles have evolved due to AI advancements.

Nearly half of respondents identified business value leadership as their top new responsibility, with 47% citing the orchestration of human-AI collaboration as a key focus. The report notes that 74% of IT leaders believe autonomous AI agents could reduce nearly half of Tier-1 support tasks, freeing teams for higher-value work.

AI’s influence now extends beyond IT, with 71% of respondents reporting AI use in departments such as HR, finance, and operations. However, only 12% said AI ownership within their organizations is clearly defined, while 67% cited challenges in managing cross-functional initiatives.

Atera reported a 500% increase in sales of its AI tools, including AI Copilot and IT Autopilot, in 2025. The company will showcase these technologies at Microsoft Ignite, offering live demonstrations and a session on autonomous IT solutions.
