SAP Introduces Autonomous Enterprise and Unified Business AI Platform

SAP has announced the launch of the Autonomous Enterprise at its Sapphire 2026 event, according to a press release. The initiative introduces the SAP Business AI Platform and the SAP Autonomous Suite, designed to embed AI agents into business processes and enable automated operations across industries.

The SAP Business AI Platform unifies SAP Business Technology Platform, SAP Business Data Cloud, and SAP Business AI into a single environment. It includes the SAP Knowledge Graph for mapping enterprise data and Joule Studio for building AI agents and workflows using no-code, pro-code, and AI tools. The platform is hosted on SAP-managed infrastructure optimized for enterprise AI.

The SAP Autonomous Suite extends these capabilities by integrating over 50 domain-specific Joule Assistants across finance, supply chain, procurement, human capital management, and customer experience. These assistants coordinate more than 200 specialized agents to automate complete processes. SAP also introduced Industry AI, which embeds sector-specific process logic and data models, demonstrated through a collaboration with RWE to reduce downtime in offshore wind operations.

SAP presented Joule Work, a new user interface that allows employees to interact with SAP systems through natural language and task-oriented commands. Joule Work can operate across SAP and non-SAP systems and is available on desktop, mobile, and voice interfaces.

To promote adoption, SAP launched a €100 million partner fund to support deployment of AI agents built on the SAP Business AI Platform. Enhancements to RISE with SAP and SAP GROW programs will provide customers with access to Joule Assistants and new agent-led migration tools that can reduce ERP migration efforts by over 35 percent.

SAP also announced strategic partnerships with major technology companies. These include Anthropic, Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud, Microsoft Corporation, NVIDIA, and Palantir Technologies, covering model integration, data interoperability, secure runtime environments, and AI-powered migration support.
