Xockets Files Patent Infringement Lawsuit Against Amazon
Xockets, Inc. has filed two lawsuits against Amazon and Amazon Web Services, alleging willful patent infringement of its Data Processing Unit (DPU) technologies. The lawsuits, filed in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas, claim that Amazon has been using Xockets' patented DPU innovations without permission, according to a press release.
Xockets asserts that Amazon's Annapurna Labs, which designs and tests Amazon's cloud infrastructure, is central to the infringement. The company alleges that Amazon's use of Nitro-branded DPUs in its cloud servers infringes on Xockets' patents, which are crucial for Amazon's cloud computing and AI operations.
The lawsuits seek injunctions to stop Amazon's alleged infringement and demand monetary damages. Xockets claims that Amazon's deployment of Nitro DPUs in over 20 million servers has resulted in significant financial benefits for Amazon, estimated to be in the range of hundreds of billions of dollars.
Xockets is represented by the law firm Susman Godfrey LLP in these legal proceedings.
