The company has entered agreements with next-generation nuclear providers such as Oklo, Radiant, ULC-Energy, and Stellaria, as well as fuel cell provider Bloom Energy.

Equinix's strategy involves a diversified approach to power, combining traditional utility arrangements with new on-site power generation technologies. This includes the use of advanced nuclear technologies and fuel cells to ensure reliable and sustainable electricity for its data centers worldwide.

The company has signed a procurement agreement with Oklo for 500MW of energy from its Aurora powerhouses, which utilize fast reactors with inherent safety features. Additionally, Equinix has preordered 20 Kaleidos microreactors from Radiant and signed a Letter of Intent with ULC-Energy for a power purchase agreement in the Netherlands.

Equinix is also expanding its deployment of Bloom Energy's solid-oxide fuel cells to over 100MW across 19 data centers in the United States. These initiatives are part of Equinix's commitment to sourcing 100% clean and renewable energy by 2030, with the company already achieving 96% renewable energy coverage globally.
