AVAIO Digital Advances AI-Ready Data Center in Madrid
AVAIO Digital has announced a significant milestone in the development of its AI-ready data center in Algete, Madrid, announced in a press release. The project, strategically located in Madrid's tech corridor, involves a €650 million investment and aims to support the region's growing tech sector.
The Algete Data Hub will feature a 64 MW hyperscale data center, designed to support both cloud computing and AI applications. AVAIO Digital has secured 56.3 MW of clean power from Iberdrola, with an additional 8 MW already finalized. The facility will offer low-latency connectivity to key data center clusters in Madrid and international markets via Spain's subsea cable landing points.
The project is expected to create over 500 jobs during construction and approximately 50 on-site positions once operational. It will utilize sustainable design practices, including rainwater recapture and rooftop solar, to redevelop an old industrial site in an environmentally friendly manner.
