Blaxel, a San Francisco-based startup, has raised $7.3 million in seed funding led by First Round Capital, announced on their website. The company is focused on building specialized cloud infrastructure for AI agents, which are increasingly used for tasks such as calendar management and code generation.

Blaxel's platform is designed to support the unique demands of AI agents, offering features like sandboxed virtual machines that boot rapidly and automatic scaling based on agent activity. The infrastructure supports millions of daily agent requests across 16 global regions, demonstrating its capability to handle significant workloads.

The company differentiates itself by focusing solely on AI agent infrastructure, unlike existing providers such as Google Cloud, which are not optimized for these specific workloads. Blaxel's platform includes agent hosting, Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers, and a unified gateway, providing a comprehensive solution for AI-first companies.

With this funding, Blaxel plans to expand its software platform and explore custom hardware and data center optimization, aiming to meet the growing demand for AI agent infrastructure in the coming decades.
