xAI Open Sources Grok 2.5 AI Model

Elon Musk's xAI has released the Grok 2.5 AI model as open source on Hugging Face, with plans to open source Grok 3 in six months.

Elon Musk announced that xAI has open sourced its Grok 2.5 AI model. The model weights for Grok 2.5, which was the company's leading model last year, are now available on the open source platform Hugging Face. Musk also mentioned that Grok 3 will be made open source in approximately six months.

The Grok models have been a subject of controversy, particularly due to past issues with biased responses. Despite these challenges, xAI continues to develop its AI models, with the latest version, Grok 4, described as a "maximally truth-seeking AI." The company aims to address previous concerns by making its system prompts publicly available on GitHub.
