VAST Data Customers Commit More Than $10 Billion to AI Infrastructure

Nov 5, 2026
Fourteen VAST Data customers committed more than $10 billion to systems using its software and supporting hardware during the first nine months of its fiscal year.

VAST Data secured more than $10 billion in customer commitments for systems using its software and supporting hardware during the first nine months of its current fiscal year, according to Blocks and Files. The commitments came from 14 customers, each committing more than $100 million, while four committed more than $1 billion each.

The reporting period ran from February 1 to October 31, 2026. The commitments cover planned system expansions and do not necessarily represent orders already placed. VAST Data says nine of the top 10 frontier AI labs use its storage, although there is no official ranking of those labs.

VAST Data has arranged supply planning for more than 200 exabytes of flash capacity through 2029. The company said industry demand still exceeds available supply, so capacity will be allocated according to advance customer commitments and required delivery schedules.

Tensordyne Napier: What If One Rack Could Do the Work of Nine?

Tensordyne

This Tensordyne whitepaper presents Napier, an inference-focused AI processor and rack-scale system based on the company’s TDN Math logarithmic number system. It examines infrastructure requirements for large mixture-of-experts and agentic models, compares major inference architecture approaches, and details the TDN AIP processor, TDN72 pod, TDN Link fabric, and Napier Ultra configuration. The paper reports simulation-based performance, cost, and accuracy-validation results, including Tensordyne’s projected comparison of one Napier rack with a nine-rack Nvidia Rubin plus Groq deployment; the chip is reported as taped out and in fabrication.
