Oncor Reports 293 GW of Data Center Requests in Texas Queue
Oncor said in a press release that its active transmission interconnection queue included about 293 GW of requested data center load as of September 30, 2026. The queue contained 795 large commercial and industrial requests, including another 19 GW from other sectors, of which 4 GW came from crypto mining facilities. For comparison, ERCOT set an all-time peak demand record of 91.1 GW on July 22, 2026, according to the release.
Oncor received conditional classifications through the ERCOT Batch Zero process for about 24 GW of base load, including 10 GW already receiving power, and 21 GW of studied load. The classifications remain subject to an ERCOT audit expected in December 2026, while a final transmission plan is not expected until fall 2027.
The utility holds about $2 billion in customer collateral tied to Batch Zero projects. Those projects remain outside its current base capital plan. Oncor projects that its base capital plan for 2027 through 2031 will increase by about 20%, with the final plan expected in the first quarter of 2027.

Tensordyne Napier: What If One Rack Could Do the Work of Nine?
Tensordyne
This Tensordyne whitepaper presents Napier, an inference-focused AI processor and rack-scale system based on the company’s TDN Math logarithmic number system. It examines infrastructure requirements for large mixture-of-experts and agentic models, compares major inference architecture approaches, and details the TDN AIP processor, TDN72 pod, TDN Link fabric, and Napier Ultra configuration. The paper reports simulation-based performance, cost, and accuracy-validation results, including Tensordyne’s projected comparison of one Napier rack with a nine-rack Nvidia Rubin plus Groq deployment; the chip is reported as taped out and in fabrication.
