U.S. Air Force Seeks Proposals for Large-Scale AI Data Centers
The U.S. Department of the Air Force announced it is accepting proposals for the construction and operation of artificial intelligence data centers. The initiative aims to support large-scale infrastructure capable of meeting the computational demands of advanced AI systems.
According to the announcement, eligible projects must include more than 100 megawatts of new power load and represent at least $500 million in capital expenditures. The Air Force is also seeking monetary consideration for the proposed data center developments.
If a proposal includes onsite power generation, the Department of the Air Force will retain the first right of refusal to that power generation capacity. Additional details on submission requirements and evaluation criteria are available through the department’s official request for proposals.
