Rocket One Licenses NASA Avionics Technology for Space AI Platform

Rocket One Inc. has signed a nonexclusive patent license agreement with NASA for the Affordable Vehicle Avionics System, the company said in a press release.

The license gives Rocket One rights to develop and commercialize software, analytical tools and technical workflows based on the NASA technology within a field covering modeling, simulation, testing and mission planning for space vehicle avionics.

Rocket One plans to use the technology as the basis for an AI enabled software platform for spacecraft mission planning, avionics modeling, simulation and engineering workflows. The company said the platform is intended for commercial launch providers, satellite operators, aerospace companies, defense contractors and government organizations.

The planned roadmap includes product architecture, prototype development, market validation, pilot programs and an initial commercial launch. Rocket One also said it expects to seek collaborations with commercial space companies, universities, government organizations and aerospace partners.
