Toma Secures $17M to Enhance AI Voice Agents for Auto Dealerships
Toma, a voice AI startup, has raised $17 million in a Series A funding round led by Andreessen Horowitz (a16z), with participation from Y Combinator and Scale Angels, reports TechCrunch. The funding will be used to enhance Toma's AI voice agents, which assist auto dealerships in managing customer calls, scheduling service appointments, and handling parts orders.
Founded in early 2024 by Monik Pamecha and Anthony Krivonos, Toma pivoted from focusing on banking and healthcare to the auto retail sector after realizing the high volume of unanswered calls in dealerships. The startup's AI voice agents are designed to handle dealership-specific variables and hand off to human staff when necessary, creating a learning loop to refine responses.
The Series A funding will support Toma's expansion efforts, including building a sales team to scale their operations. Currently, Toma's AI solutions are already in use at over 100 dealerships across the United States, providing a more consistent and efficient customer experience.
