RWS Agrees to Acquire Acolad Parent Acogroup
RWS has entered a binding agreement to acquire Acogroup, the parent company of Acolad, the company announced in a press release.
Acolad is headquartered near Paris and has about 1,200 employees across 22 countries in Europe and North America. Its services include localization, interpreting, transcription, data services, and a content platform powered by AI.
RWS said the acquisition would expand its enterprise customer base in Europe and extend access to its AI platforms, including Cultural Intelligence Layer and Language Weaver Pro. Acolad also brings clients in regulated industries, the public sector, interpreting, and medical devices.
The transaction is expected to close by 31 March 2027. Completion depends on the French information and consultation process and other regulatory approvals. Until then, RWS and Acolad will operate as separate businesses.
