SWEAR Launches Video Evidence Integrity Program for Cities

SWEAR has launched a program that helps cities, law enforcement agencies, and other public sector organizations verify that video evidence remains unchanged from capture.

SWEAR launched the Community Video Integrity Project to help public sector organizations authenticate critical video evidence, according to a company press release. The program is open to cities, municipalities, law enforcement agencies, and other public sector organizations.

Selected participants will deploy SWEAR on high priority cameras. The system creates a cryptographic record of footage from capture, providing evidence that a video is authentic and has not been altered. Chief executive Jason Crawforth said organizations need to prove footage is unchanged as AI generated manipulation becomes more accessible.

The program is designed for organizations using XProtect from Milestone Systems. It adds an independent authentication layer to existing video management systems, with support from Milestone Systems and security integrator Stone Security.
