Spain's Ministry of Defence Chooses Skydio X10D Drones

Spain's Ministry of Defence has awarded Skydio a contract to supply X10D autonomous drones for the Spanish Armed Forces, valued at €18 million.

Spain's Ministry of Defence has selected Skydio to supply its X10D autonomous drones to the Spanish Armed Forces, announced in a press release. The contract, valued at €18 million, involves a partnership with Paukner Group, a Spanish defense and security product distributor.

The Skydio X10D drones are designed for Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) missions, offering advanced autonomous navigation and sensor technology. These drones are equipped with onboard AI, making them resilient in contested environments, which is crucial for military operations. The Spanish Army plans to deploy these drones for various missions, including force protection, reconnaissance, and facility security.

Skydio, a leading U.S. drone manufacturer, has previously supplied drones to every branch of the U.S. Department of Defense and 25 allied nations. The X10D model, which began shipping in 2024, is noted for its rapid deployment capabilities and dual-use benefits, serving both commercial and public organizations.
