S&P Global Unveils Adaptive Retrieval for AI Data Access
S&P Global announced in a press release the launch of Adaptive Retrieval, a new service that allows AI agents and large language models to access and assemble licensed S&P Global data using natural language queries. The new capability is available through the S&P Global AI Data Portal, which now supports both Adaptive and Deterministic Retrieval methods.
Adaptive Retrieval enables AI systems to draw data from multiple sources simultaneously and handle requests involving several datasets at once. This feature is suited for complex research tasks and report generation. Deterministic Retrieval, based on the Kensho API, provides structured access through direct queries, supporting focused use cases such as company research and earnings call analysis.
Customers can use either or both methods, depending on their data architecture needs. Both solutions are designed to integrate directly with AI and multi-agent workflows, offering verifiable and auditable data without the need for additional engineering work.
The launch follows S&P Global’s evolution of its Market Intelligence framework, which unites data, AI, software, and workflow features to improve how clients discover and use information. The initiative is supported by the Kensho Data Platforms unit, which develops the interfaces behind Capital IQ Pro and related AI-oriented tools.
