Revelio Labs Finds Wider Employment Gap for Young Workers in AI Exposed Jobs

Revelio Labs said in its August workforce update that employment in the occupations most exposed to AI was about 6% lower than in the least exposed occupations, compared with levels before ChatGPT. Among workers ages 22 to 25, the gap reached 19%.

Active US job postings fell 3% from July to 18.3 million, which was 2.2% below August 2025. Advertised salaries in new postings declined 3.4%, while Transportation and Warehousing and Wholesale Trade recorded the largest drops in postings.

Public Administration and Health Care and Social Assistance led job additions, while Leisure and Hospitality and Retail Trade lost jobs. Companies with high AI exposure reported fewer layoffs than those with lower exposure, and companies adopting AI continued to increase headcount relative to companies that had not adopted it.
